Hidden in Plain Sight investigates the incredible story of William and Ellen Craft, a black couple who escaped from slavery in 1848. Examining racism and prejudice in both the past and present, this boxset is an investigative journey exploring how William and Ellen Craft fled from slavery by carrying out one of history’s most ingenious escapes. Passing as a white man traveling with his servant, the two slaves fled their captors in a thrilling journey of deception and intrigue.

Presented with a box of documents, clues and evidence, children work together to discover the real-life story of William and Ellen Craft and help modern-day character Sally Okoro to solve the mystery. Taking on different roles as the journey unfolds this dramatic investigation places children at the centre of discussions around racism and the anti-slavery movement.

Hidden in Plain Sight is designed for  Key Stages 2 & 3, for groups in Years 5-8,  bringing Highly Sprung expertise and workshops into the classroom.
