Urban Astronaut was created in 2014 and has toured across the UK and internationally, stunning audiences and inspiring conversation about the current climate crisis. As part of Ready, Boxset, Go, young people are invited to understand the creative devising processes that went into the realisation of this environmentally themed spectacle. Explore duets, learn production choreography, meet the director, and explore all the steps needed to create your own climate inspired performance.

The Urban Astronaut boxset is designed for Key Stages 4 & 5, and is particularly appropriate for on GCSE and A Level drama students. This boxset has been created to support students through the theatre devising process and/or physical theatre modules. Packed with devising tasks and starting points for creation, students are guided through the Highly Sprung rehearsal process to devise their own climate inspired performance. This boxset includes factual content about climate change and air pollution and explores these topics through creative tasks. This boxset has been developed to build theatre creation skills, foster a ‘performance ready’ ethos in the group, and an awareness of environmental issues.
