We are delighted to announce that Coventry City Centre and City of Culture 2021 will be hosting a live screening of the full version of Home on Saturday 28th March at 6pm. This announcement comes as an an effort to reach out to our audiences at this difficult time with a chance to re-live this much loved performance. We hope you will be able to join us as we remember this unforgettable aerial spectacle that drew attention to Coventry’s existing and future heritage sites, attracting a large audience and collaborating with community casts from across the city.
More about Home:
In September 2019, something unique and never seen before happened on the side of Coventry University’s Alison Gingell Building.
Coventry’s very own critically acclaimed performance company Highly Sprung Performance Co. collaborated with Circus Theatre pioneers Upswing on a new performance HOME, examining our perception of our very own home…. Coventry.
High above the heads of its audience, utilising vertical dance, video projection and a powerful soundtrack audiences were immersed in thoughts of Coventry’s architectural evolution and how its buildings tell the stories of the people that they housed and how we shape the places we call home. Home was a project which animated the city of Coventry.
Home was presented as part of the Great Places Programme and was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
